It has been said, “If you want to walk in the Spirit, then talk to the Spirit”. The Holy Spirit takes up residence in all who receive Jesus as Lord (1 Cor. 6:17), yet many people are unaware of the experiential relationship that Holy Spirit longs to have with each of us. The Holy Spirit is not a mere power surge, a spiritual high-five, or some kind of wifi connection between heaven and earth. He is a person – he is God. So ‘walking in the Spirit’ is not pressing a button or flicking a switch, but cultivating a friendship.

Using “go-to prayers” in our daily life can help us to keep the conversation going with the Spirit. As we interact with him, he actually influences our thoughts and emotions – it’s incredible! A “go-to prayer” is my name for something memorable that you can easily use to kick-start your prayers. You can do it while driving, waiting in line, anywhere! Ask the Lord to help you grow in talking to the Spirit throughout the day.

For example, the TRUST prayer:
T – thank you for your presence in me Holy Spirit
R – reign in my thoughts and emotions right now
U – use me Holy Spirit
S – strengthen me on the inside Holy Spirit
T – teach me Holy Spirit. Let me see what You see and let me feel what You feel about that person or that situation

Cultivate a flourishing friendship with the Holy Spirit and get connected to the immeasurable treasure of God living on the inside of you!
