BAPTISM IS NORMAL CHRISTIANITY

Jesus identified baptism as a defining action for all of his followers when he said: ‘Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you’ (Matt 28:19,20 NIV). Biblical baptism is full immersion in water to identify with the death and burial of Jesus (Romans 6:3-4). It is a public act that says “my loyalty lies with Jesus and because of him I am a new creation!” We typically do Baptism Celebrations at South Beach on Resurrection Sunday and in December.

CHILD DEDICATIONS

Parents in New Life have the opportunity to come and present their children before God and to publicly dedicate themselves to the God-given responsibilities of parenthood. The child dedication event does not give these children a proverbial ‘foot in the door’ of heaven. It is about parents committing to raise their children in a Christ-centred way in the context of Christian community, asking for God’s blessing as they do so. We know that God is committed to bless parents and their children who love and obey Him (e.g. Exodus 34:6-8; Deuteronomy 30:11-20).

MARRIAGE PREPARATION & WEDDINGS

New Life Church is committed to helping couples develop a healthy marriage relationship so that it will be enjoyable and will endure through life’s storms. Marriage is highly valued as a gift from God and as a prophetic picture of the intimacy between Jesus and the people of God (Eph 5:31-32).
