The Festival of Shelters (also called ‘Sukkot’ or ‘Tabernacles’) reminds us that something better is coming. Just as the Israelites relied on God’s provision as they lived in temporary shelters in the wilderness, it connects us to our story as pilgrims who are looking forward to the return of Jesus and the ultimate shelter: the dwelling of God with people (Revelation 21). In 2021, New Life Church will be celebrating God’s Festival of Shelters from Sunday September 19 – Sunday September 26. This season will follow our 21 day Sacred Assembly which will include the Day of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement. These will be special Sundays of celebration and on Sept. 26 we will be bringing our annual Harvest Offering – an expression of our gratitude to God and an opportunity to sow into his discipleship mission locally and in the nations.

September 19 – New Life Kids will be serving by leading worship and sharing some items they’ve been working on. Please bring a plate to share for morning tea! It’s also the 24th birthday of NLC! And Dads will be able to collect their belated (post-Sacred Assembly) Fathers’ Day gifts!

September 26 – Join us for a celebratory lunch! Lunch orders must be made by September 12 – email us to find out how. Alternatively, bring your own lunch and celebrate the Festival of Shelters with us. On this Sunday, we’ll have a special worship team and a message from Wayne Hollett. Amit from Compassion Australia will be with us to share about local churches partnering with the Karen Tribe. We’ll be bringing our annual Harvest Offering – an offering over and above our usual giving, investing in making disciple makers locally and internationally!
